A quick guide for League/Tournament Directors

A quick guide for Tournament Directors
This guide is intended for Federations and leagues which wish to use a combination of FIBA Organizer (and an FO website) and FIBA livestats so they can both collect full game statistics and webcast tournament games.
Assumptions
The document assumes that the Tournament Director is a proficient User of FIBA Organizer. Namely, before integrating FIBA LiveStats into the Tournament Process it would be our expectation that the following has been established in FIBA Organizer:
- Competition has been set-up with teams and players
- A statistics profile has been established for the competition
- A schedule has been established
- FIBA Organizer has its competition upload codes set so that statistics can be uploaded automatically to a website
What you will need to have available to you:
- The FIBA Organizer Software installed and the competition database ready to run the tournament
- FIBA LiveStats installed and working
- Access to the FIBA LiveStats CMS*
*(the FIBA LiveStats CMS logins will be provided by SportingPulse to Organisations that are approved first by FIBA – please refer Wolfram Klug – Klug@fiba.com
Abbreviations: Where we use the letters FLS we mean FIBA LiveStats Where we use FLS CMS we mean FIBA LiveStats Content Management System Where we use the letters FO we mean FIBA organizer Where we use the letters FO Website we mean FIBA Organizer Website

Using FO to generate daily XML files for use in FLS
Using FO to generate daily XML files for use in FLS
Locating your Exported Files in FO
You will need to distribute the XML Files you have created in FO to your Statisticians so they can load up the games they need to complete in FLS. Whenever FO exports any sort of file, it puts it in a folder called Exports. Here is a picture of the tree and how you can locate this.
Copy the XML files from this file ready to transfer to the notebook computer you are using courtside for FLS.
Using XML Files with FLS
The FLS User Guide shows Statisticians how to load a game in FLS using XML generated by the FO program. The FLS User guide is available from:

Sending Your Schedule, Standings and Aggregated Statistics to the Internet
You can now upload the competition to your FO Website in the usual way and all results and statistics will be updated for permanent display.
